Clean Eating Dessert – Almond and Date Smoothie

Ingredients

  • 1/2 frozen banana, chopped
  • 1 table spoon of roasted and salted almonds
  • 1/2 tea spoon of honey
  • 1 medjool date, pitted
  • 1/2 cup of frozen Greek yogurt
  • 1 cup of organic unsweetened almond milk

Instructions

  1. Add everything to a blender, and blend til' smooth.

Using: Vitamix 6300 (see pictures below) with 3 pre-programmed settings, including one for “smoothies.” This allows you to push a button, and be completely hands-off while smoothie makes itself. The Vitamix 6300 is AWESOME! I highly recommend it.

Today’s clean eating recipe is one of my favorite clean eating dessert, or snack, that I’ve made. The medjool date gives this smoothie natural sweetness, and the dates add a wholesome taste. Using banana as a base provides the drink texture, and the frozen Greek yogurt adds lite creaminess.

Overall, this smoothie is a rich, filling blend that’s also sweet and tasty.

It’s also versatile, because you can have it as breakfast (or meal replacement), dessert or a snack. Of course, I prefer to enjoy it as dessert.
